Man steals to treat pregnant wife, arrested
Sitabuldi police recently arrested a man who was stealing to ensure better treatment to his pregnant wife. Vikas Davle, 21, told police
he burgled to raise money to treat his wife.
Police arrested Davle, who has past criminal record, along with his accomplice Krishna Binzade, 18, for their alleged involvement in the burglary at an electronic goods shop at Mhada colony in Dharampeth last week. The duo had decamped with materials worth around Rs 80,000 from the shop.
The booty was recovered entirely from Vasant Naik slums. In an unrelated incident, Ajni police recently nabbed a 21-year-old who confessed to have started stealing to kill the ennui of having to live without his wife who had gone to her mother's place.
Shyam Lillare, who has been held along with his accomplices Hari Hatagade and another minor for allegedly committing a burglary at Narendra Nagar, was spending generously on buying electronic gadgets. The slum-dweller's spending spree caught the attention of an informer who tipped off the police.
Sub-inspector Pramod Ghonge's squad, head constable Triyogi Tiwari and constable Ramnaresh Jaiswal, trapped the trio while they were on the prowl to commit another burglary. Police has recovered materials worth around Rs 58,000 after taking the trio in their custody.
