This week's trivia
It has been an exciting week for me. Not good exciting though. I crash landed in the hospital with a condition that apparently strikes in very young children and is rare in adults. And the complication that I had was even rarer (only one measly page of relevant google results). The good news is that the bad news is over. I am back home recuperating and thinking that it must have been my baby soft skin that mislead the 'condition' into gracing me with it's presence. Ahem. [And Mr. Blog, you can stop that sniggering right this very moment!]
I had planned for a bunch of showcases and a special gallery for the facebook gang this week. Alas, it was not meant to be. Instead, like any self respecting individual with a shiny new camera, I shall shove show pics from my last vacation to you. Oh, and some from my home too.

As you can see, I have a strong predilection for shiny light thingamajig, commonly referred to as chandeliers

New Look and on Facebook Now!
In a burst of creative energy today,
I re-designed Mr. Blog's banner. And then I re-designed the navigation menu.
And changed some fonts.
And updated the profile.
And created a Facebook page for An Indian Summer!
Oooh, Somebody stop me!While I perform the above necessary act of stopping myself
Please log onto Facebook and 'Like' An Indian Summer's Facebook page to join. I plan to use the page to connect with You, my fab readers and friends. In the coming days, I'll share much more of what inspires me on the page. And share pictures from my home's recent re-do. Also my attempts at DIY. And have interesting conversations and discussions over morning cuppa of jasmine tea, and the evening glass of wine.
Oh, and yes, I will moderate the page. All spammers, random links to applications, ads etc shall be brutally deleted.

Well, I got emails from a number of you asking me to send across this particular copy of Elle Decor India. When I couldn't find this one month old, and a very popular edition at my regular book shops, I reached out to Elle Decor. And after a few email exchanges this week, they have agreed to directly ship across this edition to interested folks! Isn't that great? I am all yipee and yips, twice over!
Here's how you can order your copy direct from the publishing house:

Elle Decor has quoted $25 as the total cost for this edition for readers outside India (the cost includes shipping)

Rijuta's Art...
...for An Indian Summer!
Rijuta Rishi is a graphic designer, and an eternal doodler. I loved her work when she first shared some of her art with me sometime back. One thing led to another, and she very graciously created banner art for An Indian Summer (look look - new header!). This header heralds the soon-to-come autumn/fall season :)
Rijuta on her art:
"I'm very drawn to ancient India, its mysticism and myths, so it's probably why I get very inspired by the traditional arts. There's room to 'say' something in many layers, and the symbolism is subtly embedded amidst their stories. Traditional forms feature in my doodles and art quite often, and mostly, I forget the world when I'm doing these."

But you do need to have an account for that. You will find these icons on the top right of any tumblr blogs' page once you create your own tumblr account. If you don't want to open a tumblr account, fret not! You can leave a comment via the disqus commenting system...and no, you don't need to have an account for that. Just click on the post heading (date/time in this case), and you will find the comment form.

Nothing fancy. Just an online scrapbook of things I like - art, jewelry, photographs, music, poetry, books, furniture, rooms, humour, DIYs, dresses, accessories, cats, illustrations, recipes, typography...anything that catches my eye!
